Scholarship Application
The Texas-Oklahoma WSO has partnered with USA Weightlifting to offer Coaching Development scholarships.
Each scholarship is for a Level-1 or Level-2 coaching course enrollment. In addition to the certification scholarship, a one-year USAW Coach membership will be included at no additional cost to each scholarship recipient.
Travel-related and non-tuition expenses are not covered.
Selection Criteria:
The emphasis is to award a scholarship to individuals who can demonstrate a commitment to growing the sport of weightlifting.
The scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria.
- Applicants must submit an application properly and entirely.
- Applicants who are working or plan to work with under-served populations in a weightlifting or sport capacity are preferred.
- Applicants with experience in the sport of weightlifting as an athlete or as a coach are preferred.
- Applicants with less than five years of coaching experience in the sport are preferred.
- Applicants with high levels of coaching success, social impact through sport and/or academic achievement in sport are preferred.
- Recipients must be U.S. citizens, 17 years of age or older.
